Macgruber - The movie!
"Macgruber", a parody of the 80's hit television series "MacGuyver" is finally here! Macgruber initially started off as a sketch in the comedy show SNL, has finally made a silver screen debut. The film stars Will Forte, who is a relatively unknown figure on the big screen, but a rather significant cast member of SNL. Below is a trailer of Macgruber:
I reckon Macgruber is going to be a flop.... perhaps good enough for cheap laughs. Why am I so glum? Well for starters the comedy contains acclaimed actors in the form of Ryan Phillipe and Val Kilmer. Apart from other SNL comedians, the cast consists of an array of WWE wrestlers such as Chris Jericho, Mark Henry e.t.c.
In essence, Macgruber should have remained a sketch comedy on SNL as all of his problems came into fruition in an abandoned warehouse with a control room. Often this control room would be set to explode in each episode and varies in name e.g. "Wood factory" control room, "Oil factory control room" e.t.c. Macgruber always displays issues regarding alcoholism, drugs, financial misgivings, homosexuality... the list is endless.
My advice... watch it if you have truly nothing else to do on a Saturday night... or if you are under the influence of a really powerful narcotic.
