So after much speculation, the Avengers finally have a villain to contest with. Its none other than the Skrulls. Now some of you may be in the dark as to Skrulls are. Well, the Skrulls are a race on aliens hell-bent on taking over the world (totally didn't see that coming). Their abilities apart from supreme intelligence and serious anger management issues is their ability to shape-shift (i.e. Change from one form to another).
Now, why is this leave a wierd taste in my mouth? Probably due to the really crap coffee I just had and slightly attributed to one minor error of judgement from the Avengers movie brains trust.... the Skrulls were primarily enemies of the Fantastic Four. Don't get me wrong, the Avengers are known for taking on the marvel universe's most vile and destructive villains. Sometimes they had to contest with anti-heroes like Deadpool, the Hulk, the Shia'r empire and many more. Granted, casting a villain would have always been a mammoth task for the Avengers franchise, however it appears that there was a lack of thought in selecting this unique group of evil shapeshifters. The big question remains... would we see the emergence of the Super-Skrull?
Chances are that may not be the case and will subsequently set the stage for a Fantastic Four reboot. Why you ask? The Super Skrull is a being who is capable of each of the four super powers in the Fantastic Four (picture bottom right). So, can this movie get any worse? Chances are, it won't. If Marvel.com was brave enough to ask my opinion in matters of movie releases they should have considered the following villains to contest earth's mightiest heroes:
Then again, I may be smoking way too much hubbly. Either way the villain selection was poor and the brains trust behind marvel better make sure its gonna be epic.. otherwise a series of disappointed fans may result a negative online prescience for the legendary team of superheroes.
