Who is the Islander?

Now that I think about it, it was rather rude of me not to introduce myself to my fellow cyberspace-men. I go by the name "The Islander" as I am originally from the Caribbean and now residing in Cape Town, South Africa. John Donne once wrote a sonnet called .The poem contained the following verse: ....No man is an island, entire of itself...any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee." There are days that despite making a plethora of friends, or participating in a wide variety of activities that I still feel like an outsider. Superman arrived in a small space pod sent from planet krypton by his father, Jo-Rel in order to escape the imminent disaster that led to the destruction of Krypton. Practically the moment his pod crash landed in Smallville, the future superhero was headed for a life of unacceptance and incompatibility. Some of you that are reading this must be thinking, "What on earth are you talking about??", "Superman is great, he is awesome", "No one hated him." That’s true. Nobody hated him, yet when he made a mistake or was accused of not helping when he should have a notable line was drawn and his unacceptance grew. Yet despite that, the man of steel always felt compelled to help them as he regarded the human race as his fellow citizens. Now as an outsider, I to feel compelled to help society and that’s through doing things honorably, giving people when they need advice or if some mates are stuck in a rut, I simply offer a hand. In saying this, I hope to use this as a medium to address everyones problems and that I can find an adequate solution to them. I can't work miracles, but I can listen and read good (lol). What will you expect to see on this blog? Sports: Debacles, headlines, cricket selections, rugby controversies (Mr. Watson comes to mind) Social and celebrity news Or something that has been really bothering me as of late Requirements for reading the blog: Keep an open mind Submit as many comments as you so desire Look forward to it folks. Be sure to watch this space for upcoming posts. Regards, The Islander
